Certain buyers of the Cadillac Lyriq will be eligible for a $5,500 discount via a “Targeted Private Offer” presented by the luxury marque.
A recent report by Cars Direct highlights this discount offer, which is available nationally to customers who buy or lease a Cadillac Lyriq between June 28th and August 31st. At this time, it’s not clear who will be eligible to receive the aforementioned discount, as a Cadillac spokesperson would not elaborate when asked about it. Instead, the representative stated that the discount is “a very limited offer” that is available only to “a select group of customers.”
While details are being kept close to the vest, it’s highly likely that the discount is being offered to Cadillac Lyriq buyers who were affected by a delay in production and delivery. It’s safe to assume that this is the case given that the $5,500 discount is not offered for 2024 model year vehicles and is only applicable toward the 2023 Lyriq. The offer could very well exist to keep Lyriq buyers pacified despite some delays in delivery or potential changes to features included in their specific vehicles.
As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition harnesses a 100.4 kWh lithium-ion Ultium battery pack and a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle. The electric driveline is rated at 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, and Cadillac estimates the Lyriq will have 300 miles of range from a full charge. Production of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq recently began at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee. While orders for the 2023 model year are full, pre-orders for the 2024 Lyriq are now open.
