2022 Cadillac Escalade Gets A $1,600 Price Increase

The 2022 Cadillac Escalade is one of the most sought-after vehicles in the luxury marque’s lineup. It consistently fetches a pretty penny from consumers, and now potential buyers will have to shell out even more for the full-size luxury SUV as it just received a $1,500 price increase. 

All Escalade trims – Luxury, Premium Luxury, Premium Luxury Platinum, Sport, and Sport Platinum – have received an additional $1.500 tacked on to their respective MSRPs. On top of that, the destination freight charge rose from $1,695 to $1,795. That means that customers can now expect to pay $1,600 more for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade. The aforementioned price increases affect both the regular-length Escalade and the extended-length Escalade ESV. 

However, this price increase does not account for the inclusion of the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous driver assist feature, Super Cruise. Customers who wish to have Super Cruise included in their Escalade can expect to pay an additional $2,500 to have it equipped as a standalone option. In fact, the high-tech feature has been constrained from the full-size luxury SUV until further notice due to the ongoing global microchip shortage. Under normal conditions, Super Cruise is included as standard on the Escalade Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum trims; it is not offered at all on the base Luxury trim. 

A price increase isn’t wholly unexpected. In recent months, low supply and high demand for the 2022 Cadillac Escalade has encouraged some dealerships to tack hefty markups to the price of the luxury SUV, with some asking as much as $40,000 above MSRP. This practice prompted Cadillac to issue a warning to dealers, although it doesn’t seem to have had much of an impact on the practice, at least as of this writing.
