2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Gets New Maverick Noir Frost Paint

The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will mark the super sedan’s second model year, and Cadillac Society has now learned that it will get a new, sporty exterior color known as Maverick Noir Frost.

Set to be exclusive to the V-Series Blackwing ultra-high-performance sedans, Maverick Noir Frost (production code GNW) will replace Dark Emerald Frost (production code G7W), which was offered for a limited time on the 2022 CT5-V Blackwing (and CT4-V Blackwing) before being discontinued. Like Dark Emerald Frost, Maverick Noir Frost will be a limited edition exterior color available for an extra charge, though the actual cost is unclear as of this writing.

Maverick Noir Frost will be available in conjunction with specific interior colorways, including:

  • Jet Black with Jet Black Accents
  • Natural Tan with Jet Black Accents
  • Sky Cool Gray with Jet Black Accents

It is not offered with the following interior color combinations:

  • Whisper Beige with Jet Black Accents
  • Sedona Sauvage with Jet Black Accents

While there aren’t any photos of this new exterior color quite yet, the “Frost” moniker likely means that it will be another matte color. If that ends up being the case, it will be the second matte exterior paint to be offered on a V-Series Blackwing super sedan after aforementioned Dark Emerald Frost, and the fourth matte color to be offered by the luxury marque in its history. Another matte color, Crystal White Frost, was offered in 2016, exclusively on the ATS-V and CTS-V Crystal White Frost Edition models. In 2013, 100 units of the CTS-V Coupe were painted in Silver Frost matte.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is powered by  the luxury marque’s supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), which is capable of 669 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful Caddy ever built. All that power meets the pavement exclusively via the two rear wheels through either the standard six-speed manual transmission or optional 10-speed automatic.

  1. Maverick Noir?
Maverick: (English) An unorthodox or independent-minded person

    Noir: (French) Black

Who comes up with that stuff?
