2022 Cadillac CT4, CT5, XT4 Being Built Without Ventilated Seat Blower

The ongoing global microchip shortage continues to be a hindrance to vehicle production industry-wide, and Cadillac is certainly no exception. The luxury marque has elected to withhold certain features from some of the vehicles in its lineup in order to conserve and prioritize its limited supply of semiconductors. Recently, Cadillac Society learned just which vehicles are currently being built without ventilated seat blower motors.

Beginning with April 4th, 2022 production, some units of the 2022 Cadillac CT4 and CT5 luxury sedans, along with the XT4 luxury crossover, are being built without ventilated seat blower motors. Prior to this, affected units of the CT4, CT5 and XT4 already had constrained availability of the heated and ventilated seats. However, we’ve learned that in addition to being assembled without a control module for the features, some units completely lack the blower motor assembly as well.

Cadillac has indicated that it will be able to retrofit the features at a later date, as soon as supplier issues are resolved. As before, the window stickers indicate what features each vehicle does or does not contain.

Below, we’ve provided a table detailing which Cadillac models are affected by feature constraints as a result of the microchip shortage. In addition to the constraint of control module and blower motor for ventilated seats, some models also lack the heated steering wheel feature, along with Rear Park Assist as well as Front and Rear Park Assist technologies.
