2023 Cadillac Lyriq Will Be Available With Heated Rear Seats

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq will offer heated rear outboard seats, Cadillac Society has learned.

The comfort feature is not available for the Lyriq Debut Edition. Rather, it will become available later in the year for subsequent models as more trim levels are added to the all-new luxury electric crossover’s roster. It should be noted that the Debut Edition is based on Cadillac’s Luxury trim, which is considered the entry-level (base) model per the Y-trim level strategy. With that in mind, it’s likely that higher trim levels equivalent to Premium Luxury and/or Sport and other tiers are on the way.

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition recently entered production at the Cadillac Spring Hill plant in Tennessee, with the first units beginning to roll off the assembly line on March 21st.  Spring Hill is capable of producing as many as 200,000 units of the battery electric luxury crossover annually to meet demand, and Cadillac recently announced plans to ramp up production of the Lyriq in response to healthy interest.

Riding on the new BEV3 platform, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition features a proprietary 100.4 kWh lithium-ion Ultium battery pack and a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle. The electric driveline is rated at 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, and Cadillac estimates the Lyriq will have 300 miles of range on a full charge.

While all the Debut Edition models are spoken for, actual orders for the 2023 Lyriq (as opposed to reservations) will open on May 19th. At this time, it’s not clear what trim levels will be made available in the near future, but so far, we do know that there’s a high-performance model on the way. The model will feature a more powerful drivetrain than the Debut Edition thanks to a second motor mounted on the front axle, thereby enabling all-wheel-drive.
