New 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Ad Spot ‘Fortune Favors The Fearless’: Video

The 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is at the forefront of the luxury marque’s surge into an all-electric future, bundling zero emissions, impressive technology, luxury and style. The new Lyriq will launch this spring, and to drum up a little more excitement, Cadillac released a short ad spot featuring the electric crossover.

The 30-second ad is titled “Fortune Favors the Fearless,” and showcases a number of the Lyriq’s design elements. The video provides a close-up look at the lighting display integrated into the front fascia, that “greets” the driver as they approach the vehicle. We’re also granted a brief glimpse of the details of the center console, right down to the rotary gear selector embellished with the signature Cadillac crest.

The ad features a diverse cast of models interacting with the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq and encourages its viewers to “Be Brave, Be Uncompromising, Be Authentic, Be Original,” and finally, to “Be Iconic.” The latter is Cadillac’s latest catchphrase that embodies the Lyriq’s personality, and has been used in other media featuring the luxury crossover before.

The ad’s final screen states that the luxury marque will be “taking orders soon” and directs viewers to the Lyriq’s dedicated webpage.

As a reminder, 2023 Cadillac Lyriq is the marque’s first-ever battery electric vehicle. The Debut Edition, which sold out in minutes, harnesses a 100.4 kWh lithium-ion Ultium battery pack and a single Ultium Drive motor mounted on the rear axle. The electric driveline is rated at 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque, and Cadillac estimates the Lyriq will have 300 miles of range from a full charge, despite the not-insignificant 5,610 pounds of weight riding on its chassis. The Lyriq is built on the all-new BEV3 platform.

The Lyriq Debut Edition is only available in two colors: Satin Steel Metallic and Stellar Black Metallic, but we expect more colors to become available once the regular model launches. Additionally, while the Debut Edition is available exclusively with rear-wheel-drive, we expect all-wheel-drive along with at least one higher-performance variant, to become available in future models.
