The 2022 Cadillac CT5 is the proud recipient of a new color for the Chinese market, Cadillac China’s parent company, SAIC-GM, announced this week.
The new color is a striking orange hue known as Le Mans Orange, with the name paying homage to Cadillac’s upcoming return to the 24 Hours of Le Mans this year after a 21-year hiatus. The luxury marque will enter its new prototype hypercar, the recently-announced Cadillac Grand Touring Prototype (GTP), at the renowned endurance race.
Le Man Orange is exclusively available on units of the Cadillac CT5 in Sport or Platinum Sport trim levels, which represent the range-topping variants of the sedan in China. Cadillac says that Le Mans Orange has a visual impact that evokes the luxury marque’s rich history in racing.
The color appears to be similar to Blaze Orange Metallic, which was all-new for the 2022 model year in the U.S. market. In fact, Blaze Orange Metallic was initially introduced on the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing, the most powerful Cadillac vehicle to date.
Under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac CT5 Le Mans Orange edition features the same powertrain as other trim levels of the sedan in the Chinese market, namely the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY) rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The boosted four is mated to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to either the rear two wheels or all four wheels.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 Le Mans Orange edition is available now for purchase through the luxury marque’s dealer network in China. Units of the CT5 in the Le Mans Orange hue feature black wheels for an even more sporty look, that’s visually similar to the styling of the high-performance CT5-V variant, which is currently not available in China.

Great color …and since Caddy hasn’t been able to produce a CT5 with the Blaze Orange with Super Cruise yet, and there is a mid-model update that is supposed to happen for the 2023 model that should go into production in the Fall, I hope they continue the Blaze Orange on the 2023 model if I am to be a buyer.
