The 2022 Cadillac CT5 is no longer offered in the Garnet Metallic exterior color, Cadillac Society has learned.
The dark red color has been built out for the 2022 model year, meaning that it is no longer available on new units of the CT5 luxury sedan. At this time, it is not clear how many individual units of the CT5 were built with Garnet Metallic, or if the color will return for the 2023 model year.
Garnet Metallic was offered exclusively on units of the 2022 CT5 in Luxury and Premium Luxury trims. In other words, it was not available for the 2022 CT5 Sport, CT5-V or ultra-high-performance CT5-V Blackwing. The color was considered a premium color that cost an extra $625 to equip.
Additionally, we have learned that the 2022 Cadillac CT4 is similarly no longer available with the Garnet Metallic exterior color.
The 2022 Cadillac CT5 features the 2.0L I4 (production code LSY), rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, as standard on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. These models carry the 350T moniker on the decklid. Rear wheel drive is standard, while all wheel drive is optional.
Pricing for the 2022 CT5 starts at $38,440 in rear wheel drive, and $41,015 for all wheel drive. Production of the luxury sedan for the 2022 model year began in early October 2021 after a nearly five-month-long hiatus due to the ongoing global microchip shortage.
While production of the 2022 Cadillac CT5 is now in full swing at the Lansing Grand river plant, the microchip shortage continues to impact the vehicle, as it’s currently unavailable to order with Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assist technology. In addition, the microchip shortage has also limited the availability of certain park assist features.
