2021 Cadillac Escalade Wins Wards 10 Best UX Award For Its Outstanding Tech

All new for the 2021 model year, the fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade features a hefty list of cutting-edge technology that set the luxury SUV apart from the competition. Now, the Escalade has been recognized for its cutting-edge technology, earning the Wards 10 Best UX award

Wards praised the 2021 Escalade’s progressive OLED display, stating that it “shames” conventional automotive LCDs, thanks to its ultra-high definition that’s twice the pixel density of a 4K television. The Escalade’s OLED display consists of three seamlessly-integrated screens:

  • 7.2-inch touch-controlled information center (to the left of the steering wheel)
  • 14.2-inch gauge cluster / instrument panel behind the steering wheel
  • 16.9-inch infotainment screen

When combined, the displays span 38 inches.

Wards was also impressed with the Cadillac Escalade’s integrated navigation system, which not only provides a wealth of relevant information, but responds extremely well to vocal commands. The outlet noted this particular feature was much more accurate in the Escalade than similar systems in other vehicles. The system also boasts several other unique and helpful features, including augmented reality navigation that overlays directions onto a real-time video feed presented on the digital instrument panel.

The fifth-generation Cadillac Escalade also features a helpful parking assist system known as Surround Vision. It utilizes four exterior cameras to give the driver a bird’s eye view of the vehicle, reducing blind spots while parking the luxury SUV. Additionally, a towing package can be added that employs nine cameras, enabling drivers to keep an eye on their trailer while towing.

Lastly, the 2021 Cadillac Escalade was praised for its Super Cruise driver assist feature, which allows for hands-free driving on certain stretches of North American highways

“Super Cruise. Case closed,” said Wards Auto judge Dave Zoia.
