The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is one of the hottest cars on the market, and sales for September 2021 prove how sought-after the new luxury SUV really is.
According to data released by iSeeCars, an automotive search engine and market research aggregate, the Cadillac Escalade was one of the fastest-selling vehicles last month. The Escalade turned in an average of 10.7 days after arriving at the dealership, ranking as the seventh fastest-selling vehicle in the U.S. The fastest-selling vehicle, the Subaru Crosstrek, spent 7.8 days on dealer lots before finding a buyer. Following the Crosstrek is the Chevrolet Corvette at 8.6 days, the Subaru Forester at 9.5 days, the Toyota RAV4 at 9.8 days and the Toyota Highlander Hybrid at 10.1 days.
The Cadillac Escalade’s position as a fast-selling vehicle is impressive considering its average price point of $99,266, which is significantly higher than most of the other vehicles listed. The Escalade is also recognized as the fastest-selling full-size luxury SUV, outselling its similarly sized competitor, Mercedes-Benz GLS. The GLS ranks 18th with an average of 11.2 days on dealer lots.
Karl Brauer, executive analyst at iSeeCars, attributes the Escalade’s popularity to its revamping for 2021 model year, which represents the first model year of the luxury SUV’s fifth generation.
“The Escalade was redesigned for 2021 to make the premium SUV even more luxurious and technologically advanced, helping it dominate the full-size SUV segment,” said Brauer. “Additionally, the popular vehicle consistently sells over MSRP and grew in sales by 123 percent in Q3 2021 over the previous year.”
The 2021 Cadillac Escalade is offered in either the regular-length Escalade model or in the extended-length Escalade ESV, which features a wheelbase that’s 12 inches longer. The luxury SUV is offered with two engine choices: the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline motor (production code L87) rated at 420 horsepower and 460 foot-pounds of torque, or the turbo-diesel 3.0L I6 (production code LM2) rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. Both engines bolt to the 10-speed automatic transmission, delivering power to either the vehicle’s rear axle or to all four wheels.
The Escalade has also been dominating the sales charts from a raw sales volume standpoint, outselling all full-size SUV rivals combined during the third quarter of 2021.
