2021 Cadillac Escalade Among The Fastest-Selling Vehicles In March

The all-new 2021 Cadillac Escalade introduces a fresh fifth generation for the iconic luxury SUV nameplate, with a new design, new technologies, new features, and a new engine lineup. The popularity of the latest Cadillac Escalade is evidenced by just how quick it’s selling – in fact, the new Escalade was among the fastest-selling vehicles in the U.S. last month.

According to a recent post from Cox Automotive, the Cadillac Escalade and Escalade ESV lowered the national days’ supply average for new vehicles, with the “standard” Cadillac Escalade showing an average 19-day supply of vehicles, and the Escalade ESV showing a 24-day supply of vehicles. By comparison, Cox Automotive identified the broader industry average at 59 days’ supply.

According to the recent report, the luxury SUV segment had the lowest inventory average of all the major segments at 38 days’ supply. The Cadillac brand, which includes all Cadillac models currently on sale, had an above-average supply at 66 days.

The Cox Automotive findings are based on daily sale rates for the latest 30-day period, with sales quickening throughout the month of March, reaching their fastest pace since September of 2019. Total new-vehicle sales last month were 60 percent higher than they were a year ago, but 1 percent lower than they were in 2019.

“Spring 2021 is going to be difficult for shoppers with supply limited and demand surging,” said Cox Automotive senior economist, Charlie Chesbrough. “Vehicle buying always picks up in the spring. This year has additional tailwinds from rising optimism about the economy and vaccinations along with government stimulus checks.”

As the organization points out, strong demand and low supply typically mean high prices and low discounts from dealers and automakers. Luxury vehicle average list prices were at $60,921 last month, up from $59,469 in February.
