New Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing Renderings Preview Future Super Sedan

A few weeks ago, Cadillac Society brought you exclusive renderings of the upcoming Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing. Today, we’re back at it with renderings of its bigger brother – the CT5-V Blackwing.

At the front, we gave our CT5-V Blackwing a more aggressive front fascia with a larger upper grille. It also has unique black aero bars housed within the lower fascia and side intakes. Besides a more aggressive appearance, the changes will also aid the super sedan in sucking in more air for cooling the supercharged V8 that will be under its hood, while also cooling off what we expect to be massive brakes.

Our Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing rendering also features flared fenders that house a set of black multi-spoke alloy wheels wrapped in sticky rubber with wide dimensions, delivering an aggressive stance as well as the necessary contact to put its power to the ground. We also added a set of air extractors behind the front wheels – which we have seen in prior CT5-V Blackwing spy shots.

Note that an air extractor on the hood is absent, and that’s very much on purpose: as of this writing, not a single CT5-V Blackwing prototype we’ve seen has had the feature, though it might show up as part of an optional track or aero package.

At the rear, our Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing features a pronounced spoiler extended from the trunk lid, plus a black diffuser element housing four trapezoidal exhaust tips.

Various V-Series badges are present for good measure, including on the front fenders and at the rear. The production model might also have a V-Series Blackwing badge on the front grille.

When it launches sometimes next year, the Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing will feature a version of the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) used in the third-generation Cadillac CTS-V, where it made 640 horsepower and 630 pound-feet of torque. Two transmission options will be on offer – a six-speed manual as well as Caddy’s new 10-speed automatic.

In addition, the super sedan will have a more potent suspension system, bigger brakes, and a very throaty exhaust note. Unfortunately, the CT5-V Blackwing as well as the CT4-V Blackwing were slightly delayed by the COVID-19 pandemic. In the grand scheme of things, that will be a relatively minor bump in the road.

We’ll have more on the CT5-V Blackwing soon, so be sure to subscribe to Cadillac Society for more Cadillac CT5 news and around-the-clock Cadillac news coverage.
