The Cadillac CT4-V and Cadillac CT5-V both pack luxurious four-door cabins and turbocharged performance under the hood. It’s a mighty sweet combo, but unfortunately for those buyers in China looking to get a slice of the action, Cadillac Society has learned that both models will not be offered in the market.
2020 Cadillac CT4-V
The Cadillac CT4-V and Cadillac CT5-V slot in as the mid-range performance models in their respective trim level hierarchies, with the CT4 Sport and CT5 Sport slotting in below, and the upcoming CT4-V Blackwing and CT5-V Blackwing slotting in above.
The Cadillac CT4-V was revealed back in May 2019. The front end is punctuated by a tight V-Series style black mesh grille, while black accents are found front to back. The rear end also comes with a quad exhaust and unique spoiler design. 18-inch alloy wheels are found at the four corners.
2020 Cadillac CT4-V
Under the hood, the Cadillac CT4-V is powered by the a turbocharged 2.7L four-cylinder engine (production code L3B), which doles out 325 horsepower and 381 pound-feet of torque. Output is routed through a 10-speed automatic transmission and standard RWD, although AWD is also available. Magnetic Ride Control is offered on RWD models, while AWD models use passive dampers. Brembo brakes throw the anchor.
Meanwhile, the larger Cadillac CT5-V comes with similar styling cues as the CT4-V, including a black mesh grille, front and rear aero treatment, and quad exhaust tips. The CT5-V also comes with 19-inch wheels, under which is a set of Brembo brakes up front.
2020 Cadillac CT5-V
Powering the CT5-V is a twin-turbocharged 3.0L V6 engine (production code LGY) producing 360 horsepower and 405 pound-feet of torque. Output is once again sent through a 10-speed automatic transmission, with RWD offered as standard, and AWD as an available option.
Since neither the Cadillac CT4-V nor the CT5-V are coming to China, Cadillac customers in the Asian market will be limited to a single engine option in both luxury sedans: the twin-scroll, turbo 2.0L engine (production code LSY) rated at a maximum of 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine mates to an eight-speed automatic transmission in the CT4 and to a ten-speed automatic transmission in the CT5.
