2020 Cadillac XT5 Refresh Announced For Russia

Cadillac has announced that the 2020 Cadillac XT5 refresh will soon launch in Russia – the luxury brand’s largest market in Europe.

Set to arrive in Russia in early 2020, the improved midsize crossover will be available in two trim levels in the Russian market: Premium Luxury and Sport, with the two trims enabling the crossover to appeal to distinct customer profiles. As of this writing, Cadillac has elected not to offer the base-level Luxury trim level for the Russian-market XT5, which runs contrary to its Y trim level strategy.

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 Premium Luxury focuses on a more traditional appearance with elegance and sophistication, while the Sport model provides a more sporting character with darker exterior accents along with a different suspension configuration.

The two trims feature several key distinctions inside and out. The Premium Luxury model features bright decorative trim on the front grille and elsewhere throughout the body, while the 2020 Cadillac XT5 Sport features those accents in a dark finish instead.

For the Russian market, the refreshed 2020 Cadillac XT5 will be equipped exclusively with the turbocharged 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine (production code LSY) developing a maximum 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The engine is mated to the latest nine-speed automatic transmission with Electronic Precision Shift gear selection technology. Cadillac states that the powertrain is well-suited to the country’s needs, delivering a solid balance of fuel efficiency and high levels of refinement.

The updated 2020 Cadillac XT5 will arrive in Russia during the first quarter of the 2020 calendar year. In fact, dealers have already started accepting orders for the 2020 XT5 in Russia. To reach the Russian market, the vehicle is imported from the Spring Hill assembly plant in Tennessee, United States.

Pricing starts at 2,990,000 rubles, or about $48,000 USD at current exchange rates. The XT5 can also be financed via the Cadillac Finance program and a four percent interest rate.

The introduction of the 2020 Cadillac XT5 refresh is part of the luxury automaker’s strategy to expand in Russia, with plans to offer more models, open more dealers and sell more vehicles in the short-term future.
