Cadillac CT5 Makes Chinese Debut In Wave Metallic Paint: Photo Gallery

The Cadillac CT5 first dropped cover earlier this year at the 2019 New York International Auto Show, introducing the luxury brand’s newest D-segment premium sedan to indirectly replace the Cadillac ATS. Chief among the CT5’s numerous new features is completely new styling based on the Cadillac Escala concept. And now, we’re getting a fresh take on the new sedan’s design and color courtesy of the CT5’s Chinese market debut.

Earlier this month, Cadillac debuted the CT5 for China at the Chengdu Motor Show, bringing a CT5 Sport in this Wave Metallic hue. Meanwhile, Wave Metallic appears to be the same blue color as what was offered on the now-discontinued Cadillac CTS-V and ATS-V. This also marks the first time the CT5 has been seen in this particular paint color.

Like its predecessor, the Cadillac CT5 looks fantastic in this cerulean color, especially when offset by the black detailing unique to the Sport trim level.

Up front, a glossy black mesh grille replaces the standard model’s bright finish, while the window trim, otherwise known as daylight window opening (DLO) trim, is also finished in a glossy black. This model is wearing a unique set of wheels that are optional

The 19-inch premium-painted alloy wheels with Satin Graphite finish seen here are optional on the CT5 Sport. The standard wheels are the 19-inch premium painted alloy with Pearl Nickel finish units. No matter, the dark rollers seen here provide a glimpse at standard Brembo brakes underneath, replacing the standard model’s regular brakes. Note that the calipers hiding behind the wheel on this model are finished in blue, but they can also be ordered in red or standard black on the CT5 Sport trim.

At the side, the CT5 features body-color rocker moldings with black extensions. Finally, the rear end features unique neutral-density (clear) gray-tinted transparent outer tail light lenses with red crystal inner elements, as opposed to the red lenses seen on the Luxury and Premium Luxury trim levels. A trunk lid spoiler and glossy lower fascia finish it off.

The Cadillac CT5 will be available in China in the fourth quarter of this year. Meanwhile, buyers in the U.S. will get a chance to order one in the fall. This tasty Wave Metallic paint will be available when the new D-segment sedan launches in both markets.
