The Cadillac Society Take
In June, Cadillac Mexico sales fell significantly due to the negative impact of the COVID-19 pandemic. Even so, the result is an improvement over the dramatic declines in sales volume the brand suffered in April (down 79 percent to 27 units) and May (down 67 percent to 26 units), representing the lowest sales volumes in decades. The June 2020 marks the eighth consecutive decrease in Cadillac Mexico sales following a healthy increase of 11 percent recorded in October 2019.
The June recovery was driven by the Cadillac XT4, which doubled May’s deliveries to regain its position as the brand’s best-selling model in the Mexico market. The Escalade and XT5 tied for second place with 11 units each, a slightly higher volume than they recorded in the past two months. For its part, the discontinued CTS Sedan sold two more units. Paradoxically, it is the only model Cadillac model with positive figures this month.
