SRX Confusing controls and screen

I have great difficulty in understanding the explanations in the user manual (the fat one).

Also, the SRX screen device does “funny” things that I wouldn’t expect; for example when having the NAV screen showing, pressing the lane control button causes the screen to change (still in NAV) but just minor change to the map display. I had 1 2016 Lincoln MKZ and I hated the touch screen itself (required VERY heavy pressure to get it to register presses) but VERY logical in it’s menu layers.

Thoughts??
