ParticipantI haven’t owned a Cadillac since the 2000 Deville. Just bought a 2021 XT5 premium luxury 3 weeks ago. Is it just mine or all of them noisy inside. Not a problem under 35 but a definite tire and wind noise faster than that. Does a wind deflector for the sunroof help? My hearing is not the best but this is really bothersome. Dealer said they found a rear barely down. Didn’t help when THEY closed it. Feedback please?

ParticipantI have a 2019 XT5 and above 60 the tire noise inside is extremely loud. This is why I am getting rid of it for a Lincoln or Edge. I previously had an Edge Sport with low profile Pirelli tires and it was MUCH quieter than this XT5. Lincoln has much better sound proofing than Cadillac and I do not understand why they won’t make this a better product for the money this seems ridiculous.

ParticipantI agree with you. My 2021 is very noisy also. I returned it to the dealer where I bought it and was told my right rear window was slightly down. Actually insulted my intelligence. Do they think I didn’t check that before bringing it in? Actually, another service guy claimed the noise is mostly due to the lighter material being used to assemble them this day and time. That makes more sense. If it doesn’t improve when I put different softer tires on it, I will also be looking at another brand.

ParticipantOl Red, did you ever replace your tires and if so did it help?

ParticipantShort answer, No not yet. Had it for over a year now and have only 4600 miles on it. I have taken only two 1500 mile trips with it and the different composition of the pavement makes a huge difference. If my hearing was still good I would get the new tires tomorrow. Now if I can only stop OnStar from sending me to a dealer for an engine and transmission diagnostic check every 3 weeks or so, only to be told I needed a software update. This started shortly after my first service and oil change early summer. Geez!

InactiveTransmission may make noise. The solution to this problem can be simple and inexpensive – like most of the problems on this list. Add or replace transmission fluid. Please note that the transmission is a complex technical mechanism that must be used in conjunction with the fluids with which it was tested. Do not use analogs, fill it according to the manufacturer’s recommendation, I use 2005 Ford F150 Transmission Fluid Type from https://davesoilchange.com/2005-ford-f150-transmission-fluid/, this is the best option for my car.If the noise of the gearbox in neutral position does not stop even after changing the fluid, everything indicates mechanical wear of the parts that need to be replaced.

ParticipantRoad noise. I have a 2020 and within 2 weeks of ownership, heard the same noise. Reported it to GM on their site of complaints and to National Transportation Safety Board as a defect. Also did same for car was hesitating-reduce power while driving-(auto stop turned off). Dealership checked everything, found nothing-of course they didn’t! mine is a lease and in 9 months-begone. Don’t get me wrong, it’s a very nice performance car with bells and whistles. PS GM nor Safety Board returned message.

ParticipantWe purchased a 2022 XT5 Premium Luxury (V6 AWD) and don’t have this issue. Maybe its just a matter of personal perception. She was driving a convertible before, so its probably vastly quieter than that vehicle 🙂 Without actual measurements its difficult to say. My wife loves the car and feels like its quiet, safe, and enjoyable to drive. Very pleased with the purchase.

ParticipantTotally agree with CaddyDaddy, My 2022 XT5 Sport literally has none of the complaints listed here.
One other thing too, I don’t see why so many people are so upset at the start/stop feature. I barely notice it stopping or re-starting.
Certainly not going to spend 188 bucks for a gadget to make it stop…especially when there’s a button on the infotainment screen that will disable it with one push until the next time I start the vehicle. -
