Infotainment blank screen when using Apple Car Play

    2019 Cadillac XT4: We recently had an issue with the infotainment system, freezing when using maps on Apple car play and sometimes the screen would go blank. This would only be resolved by turning the car off and back in again, however, it would happen again if we tried to do anything with the iPhone or infotainment system after we started using Apple Maps. I checked for any over the air updates and the system said we were up to date. I took the vehicle to the dealership and for $150.00 they updated the software that should have been available over Wi-Fi. This has corrected the issue for at least 4 weeks now and hopefully it continues to perform as expected. The service manager made an ignorant statement when I picked it up, saying if it happens again we will have to replace the whole infotainment system. If I had to guess, Cadillac is not pushing the update out on Wi-Fi, because most 2019s are coming out of warranty and it helps the dealerships create revenue streams. I know the 2021s had a similar problem and those updates were available over Wi-Fi. A few facts and some speculation here, I’m just glad my system is working properly for now.
