According to the owner’s manual for my XT4, under light load the engine will switch over to active fuel management and disable 2 or the 4 cylinders. It also states that this is indicated on the DIC, driver information center. But nowhere in the manual can I find how it’s displayed or what icon appears? Does anybody know what you’re supposed to see during AFM? I’m a retired airline mechanic and this stuff interests me. I just want to make sure it’s working. Thanks for any help.

Didn’t even know about cylinder de-activation. I’ll keep an eye out … wonder what is meant by “light load”. Downhill only? Barely maintaining 40 mph?

Well, if I ever see an indication of the AFM being activated, I’ll pass on here the driving condition when it happened.
