I ordered a 2022 Premium Luxury Platinum Escalade on December 8, 2021. My order has not been accepted by GM yet. Does anyone know how long I should expect to wait for the order to get going? Does it matter that I am a GM employee? Will that accelerate the process?
January 3, 2022 at 2:53 pm #85638ParticipantParticipantHello dmnoun; Jeff from Pittsburgh. To be very honest, the process can be difficult. I placed my original order for a 2021 back in February. It never got accepted and was pushed to a 2022. My official order for the 2022 was placed on October 6th and officially accepted by GM on November 16th. Then on December 14th I was advised that my 2022 was produced. As of today, it still has not arrived at the dealer, but should be any day now. To address you specific question regarding how long it will take for GM to officially accept your order, it really comes down to what is called “production restraints”. If your build contains something that GM is not accepting at the moment due to computer chips or components, it won’t get accepted. That is why my order back in February never got accepted. Once those restraints are removed by GM, your order will get accepted. Your dealer knows about all of this and he will be able to tell you what is happening at the moment. Hope this helps.
January 3, 2022 at 4:01 pm #85642dmnounParticipantHi Jeff. Actually, you helped me out greatly. I was told by my dealership, delivery in 6-7 months, but at least it sounds like they are producing vehicles. I hope GM accepts my order within 90 days. The order may come up with constraints, I loaded it up with options. Thank you for your input. Please post after yours is delivered.
February 4, 2022 at 3:17 pm #86987NECADDYParticipantI have always had escalade esv. after waiting for 6 months for my 2021 order to be accepted i cancelled it and ordered a Jeep Grand Wagoneer series III, I will never look back! I not only had mine in 12 weeks i ordered another twin for my brother as we are business owners and both have company trucks and he liked mine so well. The seats are bar none 10x more comfy than the escalades and they also have adjustable pedals as the new escalades do not and after 8 back surgeries i can tell you the massaging seats in the GW are a million times more comfy than the Escalades. Been a GM guy my whole life but tired of paying more and getting less, and the lifter issues and now driveshaft issues are a sign of the GM new products i guess? I would love to get a new V series escalade when they come out but boy would they have to step up the game on their interiors first! my .02

At that time we were told December of 2021 or march of 2022. In April of 2022 we were updated with an eta of a year to a year and a half. I just don’t understand the delay!
July 25, 2022 at 12:56 pm #92076dmnounParticipantNEVER GOT THE 2022. Order was put in December 8, 2022, got the GM order number, but the order was never accepted by GM. Now July 2022 I had to reorder the same Escalade as a 2023 model. I wonder if I will ever get the vehicle. Disappointed in GM for not being able to produce a similar vehicle as the ones the You Tube people have been testing for 7 months. The press seems to get vehicles that are not available to the public.
January 6, 2023 at 7:17 am #94176ParticipantParticipantYou are not alone. I ordered my 2021 in February of 2021 and had it pushed to a 2022, which I received in May of 2022. I can only tell you it is worth the wait. Unfortunately, Cadillac often puts restraints on certain options that are not available at that point in time. I could have received my sooner if I was willing to remove some options, but I choose to stay the coarse and eventually got what I wanted. I good friend also ordered a 2021 in May of 2021. It eventually got pushed to a 2022 and then just to a 2023. But, Cadillac just accepted her order and she will most likely get it next month. Again, hang in there!
January 6, 2023 at 8:56 am #94177dmnounParticipantMy dealer still has not put my order in. I gave them a deposit in 2021 and no end in sight. Throughout the months, they had me drop most options off it, but they keep making excuses. Now we may be looking at a 2024. Avoid Royal Cadillac of Tucson. So disappointed in them, and in the Cadillac brand in general. No help from corporate or from customer experience departments. I have been driving Cadillacs exclusively, since 2000. This may be my last one.
January 6, 2023 at 9:49 am #94178ParticipantParticipantMy neighbor owns the Cadillac dealership and I know he would say what is happening to you is wrong. Back in 2021 they issued my order to GM, but it was not accepted for about 38 weeks. I immediately got the order number from my dealer and was able to follow everything on my own. There is no reason for your dealer not to submit your order with all the options you want. If he does not do this, you will never stand a chance of getting it. I will demand your money back and go to another Cadillac dealer. Truly they are doing you wrong.
January 6, 2023 at 9:53 am #94179dmnounParticipantI had the original 2022 order number and I have the 2023 order number. How do I follow it? The Cadillac website has been no help. They always say to contact my dealer. Thanks for your help.
January 6, 2023 at 10:10 am #94180ParticipantParticipantIf you have the order number, your order has been submitted. I agree with you that the cadillac visual message support site is very bad. All I was able to do was share my oder number and was told for 38 weeks that the order has been submitted my your dealer, but not accepted by GM. It was at week 38 when I finally got the message that the order has been accepted by GM. From that point, the site was good as I could follow many steps: Production will begin within 2 weeks / your vehicle has been produced / quality control / preparing to ship and finally your vehicle has shipped. Eventually your order will get accepted, but your dealer has to keep checking as he gets allocations (order windows) from Cadillac. Twice a month your dealers gets these order windows and if he sees that your vehicle can officially be order with the options you want, he must place the firm order. If he sees that GM has some restrictions on some options, that is most likely why he did not officially order it yet. It is truly hit and miss and he must keep checking. Sooner or later what will want will get cleared for that official order. Like I said, I refused to remove options and I had to wait about 40 weeks to get mine. My friend ordered even more options than me and her order was just officially accepted. In her case, it took almost 2 years before GM removed the restrictions so the dealer could order exactly what she wanted. Unfortunately there is not much you can do, but wait. My neighbor told me which days his allocations opened up and would call me to confirm what is possible. Eventually he confirmed that he was able to order everything I wanted.
January 6, 2023 at 10:17 am #94181dmnounParticipantThanks for your help! My dealer was blaming me for ordering things like Super Cruise, Towing Package, and Radiant Package. Towing Package was removed. Super Cruise came and went, then came again. Radiant Package I had to forfeit too, but I can buy what I want elsewhere. Sounds like I have a dealer problem. No other Cadillac dealers within 100 miles so they don’t care. They have no competition. At least they sell at MSRP. Phoenix dealers add $20,000 – $25,000 to the MSRP. Can’t go there. Thanks again.
January 6, 2023 at 10:28 am #94182ParticipantParticipantMine was held up over super cruise and the performance package. Eventually the restrictions got cleared and I got everything. My friends was held up over the radiant package and some other things, but the restrictions were lifted and she will get it. I would just stay in contact with your dealer and see if he is willing to discuss his allocations and what restrictions are in place. Unfortunately, the restrictions come and go and it is beyond his control. Good luck.
January 28, 2023 at 12:38 pm #94571dmnounParticipantThank you to everyone! My dealer just sent the order in for the 2023, it is at status number 3000, and is scheduled to be built the week of February 20. I ordered it in 2021. I am not sure what options it will have, but at least it should be built. Looks like I am getting an Escalade!
February 27, 2023 at 10:19 pm #95262toan1972ParticipantHi Everybody!
Please share with me how to send my built order to Cadillac? I went to meet some dealers in Southern California but all of them refused it . They did not want to receive new order .
