The 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Is Priced For Exclusivity

Part of what makes the Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing so alluring is a graceful balance between moderation and the desire for more. It’s this exquisite execution of “less is more” that makes it a worthy counterpart to the larger, faster, and more expensive CT5-V Blackwing. Even so, there are those who prefer the mechanical modesty of the lighter, more nimble super sedan, favoring it for its agility and sure-footedness rather than its more affordable price point. The CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud Edition builds on this appreciation by coupling its capability with historical sentiment and high-end exclusivity.

With production limited to just 50 copies, the exclusivity alone could justify the added cost, which is $25,000. Of course, this price increase invokes a knee-jerk reaction for many: “Why would I pay that much for a V6-powered CT4-V Blackwing when I could get the bigger, better, badder V8-powered CT5-V Blackwing?” Simply put, this vehicle isn’t for them. It’s for connoisseurs who value what this vehicle represents and understand the ethos of thxe luxury marque’s Collector Series products.

As explained in the Cadillac Society podcast embedded above, the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud pays homage to the automaker’s debut at the 24 Hours of LeMans back in 1950, drawing inspiration from the two Series 61 Coupes that competed in the race, which were dubbed Petit Pataud and Le Monstre. The former actually finished the race in tenth place, which was one position ahead of the latter despite being the heavier of the two. Those who prefer the CT4-V Blackwing may feel that the choice to bestow it with a package that’s named after the higher achieving coupe gives credence to the notion that the smaller sibling is the better track car when compared to its bigger brother.

Cadillac claims to have instilled the 2025 CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud package, which is assigned production code ZLZ, with “performance-first craftsmanship and race-inspired detailing.” To that end, it does offer bespoke equipment, including:

  • Tinted Blue Carbon Fiber 2 Package (CFV)
  • Tinted Blue Carbon Fiber 1 Package (CFZ)
  • Unique front sill plate (C3Q)
  • Santorini seat belts (37V)
  • Magnus Metal Frost exterior color (GBL)
  • Sky Cool Gray with Santorini Blue accents (EG1) interior or Jet Black with Phantom Blue accents (E54) interior

Factory options that are not specific to the Petit Pataud Edition but included in the package regardless are as follows:

  • Climate Package (Y6F)
  • Sueded Microfiber Wrapped Interior Trim Package (IWE)
  • High-performance steering wheel (BTH)
  • Blue Calipers (J6B)
  • Gloss Black Nameplates (LPO, RIK)
  • Black lug nuts (LPO, SPY)
  • Black Wheel locks (LPO, SPZ)

Apart from the aforementioned exclusive enhancements, the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud is mechanically identical to all other 2025 CT4-V Blackwing models, featuring the same 472 horsepower and 445 pound of torque from the twin-turbocharged 3.6L V6 engine (production code LF4), and offering the same 6-speed manual and 10-speed automatic transmissions.

As a reminder, pricing for the 2025 Cadillac CT4-V Blackwing starts at $63,590, which means pricing for the CT4-V Blackwing Petit Pataud starts at $88,590. That price grows even higher for buyers who wish to tick the box for other options, such as the performance data video recorder and sunroof.
