Cadillac CT4 Has A Great Infotainment System, According To J.D. Power

Drivers engage with infotainment systems very often, making it crucial for these systems to perform reliably and efficiently. The infotainment system in the Cadillac CT4 is one of the best on the market, outshining all of its direct competitors in J.D. Power’s 2024 U.S. Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study.

This year’s rendition of the study collected responses from 99,144 purchasers and lessees of new 2024 model year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. Fielded from July 2023 through May 2024, the study returned that problems with multimedia per 100 vehicles (PP100) have steadily increased since 2020. A lower PP100 score indicates higher quality, and this year’s average of 43.7 PP100 indicates that vehicle owners are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the infotainment systems in their vehicles.

However, that sentiment doesn’t seem to extend to the Cadillac CT4. On an individual basis, each vehicle included in this year’s study was ranked on a 1,000-point Overall Multimedia Customer Quality and Satisfaction Index Ranking. A higher score in this area reflects greater satisfaction with the infotainment system implemented in a specific vehicle. The Cadillac CT4 scored 920, placing it at the top of the Small/Compact Premium segment. Notably, the CT4 outperformed the other two top three finishers, namely the BMW X4 with a score of 916 and Jaguar F-Pace with a score of 914.

“It is great to see OEMs and suppliers taking action on what were typically the biggest contributors to the increases in vehicle multimedia quality problems,” said Ashley Edgar, senior director of automotive benchmarking at J.D. Power. “Previously long-standing issues have been addressed and those updates can be seen in the problem decreases. Looking ahead, to continue decreasing problems, further optimization of Apple Car Play and Android Auto should remain a top priority.”

It’s worth noting that the Cadillac CT4 actually offers two different infotainment setups. As previously reported by Cadillac Society, 350T models that have the eight-speed automatic transmission feature volume and selection knobs mounted directly beneath the infotainment screen itself due to the positioning of its shift lever. Meanwhile, models that harness the 10-speed automatic transmission (500T, CT4-V, CT4-V Blackwing) have a different gear selector that’s more compact and allows room for a rotary control and surrounding buttons to be mounted on the console.
