The Cadillac Escalade‘s infotainment system performed very well in the J.D. Power 2024 U.S. Multimedia Quality and Satisfaction Study, dominating the Midsize / Large Premium Vehicle segment.
This year’s study collected and examined responses from 99,144 purchasers and lessees of new 2024 model year vehicles who were surveyed after 90 days of ownership. The study was fielded from July 2023 through May 2024. On an individual basis, models were graded on a 1,000-point scale that examined 10 areas of multimedia satisfaction, and the Escalade was scored 935, the best of any vehicle surveyed in this year’s study. It outperformed the Lexus LC at 932 points, as well as the Lincoln Navigator, which received 921 points.
The study also revealed that multimedia problems per 100 vehicles (PP100) have been on the rise since 2020. A lower PP100 score indicates fewer problems, and this year’s average of 43.7 PP100 indicates that vehicle owners are becoming increasingly dissatisfied with the infotainment systems in their vehicles. In fact, infotainment tech has accounted for more than 25 percent of new-vehicle quality concerns since 2020, although the results from 2024 indicate that tech improved a bit over the prior model year.
The 2021 through 2024 Cadillac Escalade features a 38-inch infotainment display. The driver cluster display portion of the screen measures in at 14.4 inches and is controlled via the small 7.2-inch touch-operated display panel that sits to the left of the driver. Said infotainment system features innovative technologies like the unique AR Camera option, which provides a live view from a front-facing camera, which is broadcast directly to the display screen with real-time driving directions overlaid on the image. At night, drivers of properly equipped 2021 Cadillac Escalade models can tap the Night Vision button on the display for a live front-facing camera view with night vision.
Customers are able to customize the gauges as well, which allows them to change what information is relayed back to them in the driver cluster screen. Other features, like Android Auto and Apple CarPlay, make connecting a smartphone as easy as can be, enabling navigation, media, and hands-free calling.
The infotainment experience in the refreshed 2025 Escalade will be significantly different than its 2021 through 2024 model year counterparts. The 2025 model year brings a welcome refresh to the full-size luxury SUV, including a reworked front fascia with all-new lighting elements and an overhauled cockpit featuring a 55-inch coast-to-coast display. Production of the forthcoming Escalade will kick off on October 7th, 2024, at the Cadillac Arlington plant in Texas.
The Escalade wasn’t the only vehicle in the luxury marque’s lineup to earn high marks. The Cadillac CT4 also dominated the Small / Compact Premium segment, earning a score of 920.

The J.D. Power director in the article stated, “Looking ahead, to continue decreasing problems, further optimization of Apple Car Play and Android Auto should remain a top priority.”
Unfortunately, GM’s future plans are to discontinue the use of Apple Car Play and Android Auto, and instead rely upon their own infotainment software.
