During the second quarter of 2024, Cadillac CT4 sales slotted in dead last due to a 35 percent slide to 1,768 units.

The Acura Integra continued to lead the segment despite a 19 percent downturn to 7,135 units, followed by the Audi A3 in the runner-up position with an 11 percent slide to 3,335 units. The Mercedes-Benz CLA-Class slotted in third, up 18 percent to 2,985 sales, tailed by the BMW 2 Series in fourth with a three percent uptick to 2,898 units last quarter. The CT4 rounded out fifth place, and in fact, the only competitor that it outperformed was the Mercedes-Benz A-Class, which has been discontinued and only recorded two deliveries during the quarter.

The Cadillac Society Take

Cadillac CT4 sales during Q2 2024 place the luxury sedan effectively dead last, considering the only vehicle it outsold is no longer in production.

Unfortunately, the CT4 did not undergo a refresh for the 2025 model year, unlike its bigger brother, the Cadillac CT5. In fact, it was a surprise that the CT4 even made it to the 2025 model year, although at this point, it’s not clear how much longer it can hang on before Cadillac discontinues it entirely.

Until that happens, the CT4 will continue to lag behind its opponents in the absence of a midcycle refresh, which is highly unlikely.

  1. If you don’t advertise it, you can’t expect to sell it. Cadillac Management needs to hire a Marketing Director who understands Marketing 101.

  2. I traded an ATS for a CT4, as an early adopter. Within 6 months I regretted it. It was akin to a child of a Chevrolet Cavalier and a Honda Accord. In one word: unrefined. I shopped, and traded it for an ATS. Hence, I’m not surprised with the report. CT4 should go and bring back the CT6 which is more in keeping with the expectation of “old school” Caddy, with CT5 as the sportier model.

    • As a former owner of two ATSes, I honestly can’t say how you can reach that conclusion. The CT4 does everything better than the ATS did… unless you went from the 2.0L LTG to the 2.0 LSY. You need the optional L3B in the CT4…

      • Cadillac needed to stay out of turbo 4s. A very narrow bore-space, long-stroke 2.5-ish liter L6 turbo (both longitudinal and transverse); should be the high-feature V6 replacement (and not be a corporate-wide engine, outside a Voltec system revival).

It seems like pieces may be moving in a way, there will be gap years without any volume Caddy USA sedan.
