Cadillac Lyriq sales totaled 7,294 deliveries in the United States, 1,099 in Canada, and 17 in Mexico during the second quarter of 2024.

Cadillac Lyriq sales in Q2 2024 earned the luxury electric crossover second place within the electric luxury D-crossover segment.
The Tesla Model Y held down the lead, outperforming all contenders in this space by leaps and bounds, despite a rare five percent slide in volume to 100,000 units. The Lyriq (see running Cadillac Lyriq sales) followed in second place with 7,294 deliveries, its highest quarterly sales figure to date. The Lexus RZ slotted in third with 4,036 units, the Audi Q8 e-tron followed in fourth with 1,811 deliveries, and the Jaguar I-Pace posted 546 sales. The Acura ZDX, the segment’s newest entry (and the Lyriq’s platform mate), moved 338 units last quarter.

From a segment share standpoint, the Lyriq earned a six percent share, the RZ had four percent, and the Q8 e-tron had two. Share of both the I-Pace and ZDX was zero. The Model Y eclipsed the rest of the field with an 88 percent share.
The electric luxury D-crossover segment expanded five percent to 114,025 units during Q2 2024, meaning Cadillac Lyriq sales outperformed the segment average.
Cadillac Lyriq sales had their best quarterly result in the second quarter of 2024. That was only overshadowed (yet again) by the Model Y. We can’t help but wonder how many Lyriqs would be sold if more were made and, as a result, available to purchase.
However, it’s worth noting that the Acura ZDX electric crossover is now on sale. The ZDX shares the Lyriq’s platform, is underpinned by Ultium technology, and is built by Cadillac parent, General Motors. Of the two, the Lyriq is the more affordable option, starting at $58,590 for the 2024 Lyriq Tech in rear-wheel-drive (RWD) guise, compared to the ZDX A-spec RWD’s starting price of $65,850.
Other new competitors are poised to enter the competitive space. This includes the Jeep Wagoneer S, which was unveiled last year as a rival to the Lyriq with 600 horsepower on tap. This model is expected to launch for the 2025 model year, and offers more power than the all-wheel-drive (AWD) Lyriq. However, the Cadillac Lyriq-V, which is also expected to debut for 2025 as reported by Cadillac Society, could be a solid answer to the inbound Wagoneer S.
Other new rivals include the Polestar 3 and Volvo EX90. It’s also worth noting that the 2023 Genesis Electrified GV70 is a direct rival to the Lyriq. However, sales of this electric crossover are not separated from its internal combustion engine (ICE) based counterparts, so we are unable to include this model in our sales report this quarter.
One of four new colors for the 2025 model year.
And it now represents the best value in its segment.
A curious sighting from a video of the Cadillac design studio.
