Cadillac Escala Concept Car Rendered As A Coupe

The Cadillac Escala concept car – not to be confused with the Cadillac Escalade – is a concept vehicle revealed at the 2016 Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance. While it never made it to production, it served as inspiration for the CT5 luxury sedan, and its bloodline can also be seen in the all-electric Cadillac Celestiq. Now, Cadillac Society took the Escala a step further, rendering what the luxury sedan concept might have looked like if it were made into a coupe.

Our rendering artists slashed two doors from the Cadillac Escala, shortening its profile to accommodate a coupe silhouette. That said, we kept its long, low-slung hood and squared-off rear end, the bright trim that accents the grille, daytime opening (DLO), and tail lights, creating visual contrast throughout the make-believe luxury coupe’s exterior.

Interestingly, our Cadillac Escala coupe rendering bears a strong resemblance to the real-life Celestiq, particularly in the slope of its rear end. The Celestiq features a fastback-like profile, though it’s classified as a four-door sedan. In fact, way back in 2021, we borrowed the Escala concept to make our initial renderings of what we supposed the Celestiq would look like, and we weren’t too far off the mark, if we do say so ourselves.

Additionally, it’s difficult not to draw comparisons between our Cadillac Escala coupe and the Expressive Coupe design study. Sadly, this model never made it to production, although it would have made for a great CT5 coupe.

  1. That’s a sweet coupe!! But I think it would better with tail lights similar to the 2015 CTS 😎

    • The taillights are very similar or same as the ones on my 2020 CT6 Premium Luxury.

  2. I don’t like the shape of the roof. It appears that the renderer tried to make the Escala Coupe look like an Eldorado. The Escala is a flawless design. A Coupe version should have a more similar roofline and silhouette.

    • It ruins the beauty of the Escala.
Unfortunately the author doesn’t understand the beauty of the design of this car.
They just made it look like the Celestic.
I do agree, though, that the CT5 could have been a great coupe.

  3. Come on GM/Cadillac! Build the coupe and sedan as ICE vehicles and the buyers will come. Not every previous Cadillac buyer wants a small CT4 or CT5 and definitely not a CUV or an SUV. Don’t make it out of reach to the previous CT6 buyers.

  5. The Escala concept car is simply a beautiful, elegant, stately design … everything a modern Cadillac should be
… and the Celestiq is simply not.
