The refreshed 2024 Cadillac XT4 debuted last year, bringing an overhauled cockpit and an updated exterior to breathe new life into the small luxury crossover. The front fascia is the most notable when it comes to exterior changes, and initial images showed a set of three vertically stacked headlight lenses positioned to the inside of the vertical accent lights. However, only one of these lights are present on the production model to provide forward illumination.
In pre-production images of the 2024 Cadillac XT4, all three vertically stacked square-shaped lights appear functional. At first, it seemed like this was a design choice that would align the XT4 with the likes of the upcoming 2025 Cadillac Escalade refresh and even the all-electric Cadillac Lyriq, both of which feature a stack of headlights on either side of the grille. However, when the XT4 launched, the production model only showed the top light illuminated, with the two other spaces below it being decorative.
We contacted the luxury marque for more information, and Cadillac confirmed that only the uppermost headlight is actually functional.
“The images that were originally released reflected a pre-production ‘show’ model,” a Cadillac spokesperson told Cadillac Society in a written statement. “As we got closer to launch, our exterior design changed.”
Behind the reworked fascia, the 2024 Cadillac XT4 continues to offer a single engine option: the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional. Inside, the XT4 boasts a 33-inch, 9K-resolution LED color touchscreen just like that of the Lyriq, with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto built in.
Production of the 2024 Cadillac XT4 takes place at the Fairfax plant in Kansas, and pricing starts at $39,090 for the base Luxury trim, which is being discontinued for the 2025 XT5.

The GM engineers forgot to add wiring and light bulbs on the CT4 that is why Only 1 light works, or maybe Cost cutting by the Accountants! Lol.

Thanks for writing about the XT4 headlights! The stacked array shown in the pre-production images was a feature that I felt was very nice. It’s unfortunate that they decided not to include that in the production model.
