Some Cadillac Lyriq Units Need Headlamp Control Module Fix

Cadillac recently released a service update for certain units of the 2023 and 2024 Cadillac Lyriq to address an issue with the electric luxury crossover’s headlamps.

The headlamps in affected units of the Lyriq may change their aim while driving, drifting too high or too low while the vehicle is in motion. Affected Cadillac Lyriq units will have correct headlight aim when the vehicle is first turned on, so the issue may not be apparent until the Lyriq is actively being driven during dark conditions.

Tagged with N232422480, the service update instructs dealers to reprogram the Headlamp Control Module so that the Headlight Level-Upper (production code TGE) no longer malfunctions and causes the headlights to drift up or down. The repair does not require any extra parts, as it is entirely related to software. The update is expected to take less than an hour to complete, and will be performed at no cost to Lyriq owners. It’s important to note that this service update will expire at the end of the Lyriq’s New Vehicle Limited Warranty.

This is not the first service update released by the luxury marque to address issues with the Cadillac Lyriq. Some units of the 2023 model year electric luxury crossover may need a fix to prevent the main body wiring harness from rubbing against a mounting stud and wearing through. Others yet may need to have an issue with the windshield molding retainer bracket fixed, while others yet may have a problem with the high voltage harness. Additionally, there are several over-the-air (OTA) software updates in the works that will help improve various systems in the 2023 Lyriq.

In more exciting new, an upcoming extra-cost upgrade for the 2023 Lyriq AWD, known as the Velocity upgrade, coaxes an additional 74 pound-feet of torque from the all-wheel-drive model’s drivetrain via an OTA upgrade.
