2023 Cadillac Lyriq Software Updates Are Coming In March

Software updates are on the way for the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq, bringing improvements to the luxury electric crossover’s universal remote and glove box control.

According to a report from Automotive News, the updates will become available in March and will improve the convenience of the universal remote and glove box controls, making them more user-friendly for 2023 Cadillac Lyriq owners. Additionally, remote commands on the myCadillac mobile app will be made faster.

It’s important to note that these updates are not able to be performed over-the-air (OTA), and require that the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq be brought to a dealership in order to be installed. The luxury marque will reach out to owners with more information regarding the updates. Installation is expected to take a few hours.

“Just like many of our technologies today receive regular updates with new features and improvements, the Cadillac Lyriq will too,” John Roth, Cadillac Vice President, said in a statement. “This means Lyriq owners will have the most up-to-date technology in their car, including the latest infotainment offerings, performance enhancements, and more.”

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq rides on the luxury marque’s BEV3 platform, and was assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China, although production of the 2024 Lyriq is well underway. It is offered with two powertrains. The base single-motor setup features one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for an estimated 312 miles of driving range. The second is a dual-motor AWD setup that adds a motor to the front axle, resulting in over 500 total system horsepower

The 2023 Lyriq AWD will also be eligible for an update of its own, as the Velocity upgrade will soon be available for the luxury electric crossover. This software update coaxes an additional 74 horsepower from the all-wheel drivetrain via OTA.
