Single-Motor Lyriq Plays Pretend As A Cadillac Lyriq-V: Photos

Cadillac Society was the first to report that the high-performance Cadillac Lyriq-V was on the way way back in 2021, when the vehicle was in the initial idea phase. Later, we noticed that a “V” trim level popped up as an option on the Cadillac accessories website, all but confirming the model’s inevitable debut. Fast forward to today, and the Lyriq-V has yet to be officially announced, but apparently, one driver in Florida got impatient and slapped some V-Series badges on a single-motor Lyriq that has no business carrying the insignia.

This Lyriq Sport pretending to be a Cadillac Lyriq-V has a V-Series “Racing Mondrian” logo affixed to its liftgate, directly beneath the existing 450E badge. For those who are unaware, the 450E badge identifies this particular luxury electric crossover as the single-motor rear-wheel-drive variant.

In other words, this Lyriq RWD is the furthest model from an actual Lyriq-V that this driver could have chosen to up-badge. When the actual Cadillac Lyriq-V is unveiled, it will feature two electric motors – one on the front axle and another on the rear, for an all-wheel-drive setup. It will also be even more powerful than the existing Lyriq AWD, which produces 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque via its dual-motor drivetrain. As of this writing, it’s anticipated that the real Lyriq-V will meet or exceed the numbers of its corporate cousin and platform mate, the Chevy Blazer EV SS, which will be rated at 557 horsepower and 648 pound-feet of torque.

At least this driver got the Lyriq Sport part right. After all, the Lyriq-V will build on the Sport trim by using the model’s dark-themed exterior accents while gaining exclusive front and rear fascia treatments. But aside from that, this Lyriq is just a Lyriq RWD (450E) and shouldn’t be wearing that prestigious V-Series badge… but hey, we guess there’s nothing wrong with dreaming.
