Cadillac Racing Will Take On Le Mans Once Again In 2024

Having received invitations from the Automobile Club de l’Ouest to compete once again in the 24 Hours of LeMans, Cadillac Racing will head back to the legendary endurance race in July 2024 with three V-Series.R race cars.

The Cadillac Racing lineup for Le Man will consist of the following cars and drivers:

  • No. 2 V-Series.R, to be piloted by Earl Bamber, Alex Lynn and Alex Palou
  • No. 3 V-Series.R of Sebastian Bourdais, Renger van der Zande and Scott Dixon
  • No. 311 V-Series.R driven by Pipo Derani, Jack Aitken and a soon-to-be-named third driver

Note that the No. 311 Cadillac Racing entry races full-time in the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship with the No. 31 on the doors, driven by Derani and Aitken.

“We were excited to race in the 100th anniversary of Le Mans in 2023. To be on the podium in 2023 with a brand-new car, new team and new rules, was amazing,” said Laura Wontrop Klauser, who serves as sports car racing program manager at Cadillac parent, General Motors. “In 2024, we’ll keep pushing forward, use the lessons from 2023 to make us stronger on the program and be ready to go against the best in the world at Le Mans.”

Bamber, 2015 and 2016 Le Mans champion, said that he’s looking forward to taking on the challenge of the iconic endurance race once more – and hopefully have a shot to win it again as the clock ticks down.

“We are all looking forward to Cadillac returning to Le Mans and challenging for the overall victory. It has been decades since an American manufacturer has achieved this and we will be strongly pushing to achieve our goal,” he said.

Cadillac Racing made its first Le Mans showing back in 1950 with a pair of Series 61 coupes, finishing 10th and 11th. Cadillac again raced in 2000, 2001 and 2002 and did not return until 2023.
