Cadillac Lyriq Will Soon Launch In Sweden

As the luxury marque’s first-ever electric vehicle, the Cadillac Lyriq is spearheading Caddy’s expansion back into the European market. In fact, deliveries of the luxury electric crossover will soon begin in Sweden during the first half of the 2024 calendar year by way of a direct-to-consumer sales model.

“This is the perfect opportunity for us to contribute to a sustainable future with zero emissions – and Swedes are at the forefront when it comes to climate awareness,” said President and Managing Director, General Motors Europe, Jaclyn McQuaid, in a statement. “We want to give them even greater choice and offer a stylish and luxurious EV that is adapted to the Swedish weather.”

The Swedish-market Cadillac Lyriq features an all-wheel-drive drivetrain facilitated by a pair of Ultium Drive motors, and its Ultium battery is capable of delivering up to 350 kilometers (approximately 217 miles) on a single charge. The luxury electric crossover is rated at 528 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque for the European market. However, while it appears that the European Lyriq is more powerful than its 500-horsepower North American counterpart, the discrepancy is due to differences in engine power measurement procedures, and not because of an actual difference in power.

Inside, the Lyriq features an advanced noise reduction system for a quiet, luxurious driving experience. The AKG audio system features 19 speakers interspersed throughout the cabin, including speakers integrated directly into the headrests. The Lyriq has been optimized for winter driving conditions, outfitted with the Energy Recovery system, which recovers and stores waste heat from the luxury crossover’s propulsion system. It is also able to capture and use moisture from inside and outside the vehicle, including body heat from passengers.

Specifically, the 2024 Cadillac Lyriq will launch in Sweden between April and May of 2024.
