Here’s How Old Cadillac CT5 Buyers Are (On Average)

The Cadillac CT5 is a sedan in a world of ever-shrinking sedans, as customer interest skews more toward SUVs, crossovers and pickup trucks. Luckily, the CT5 continues to deliver healthy sales volume, and Cadillac Society has learned an interesting bout of information – the average age of CT5 buyers.

Cadillac Society Executive Editor, Alex Luft, spoke with Cadillac chief John Roth on the sidelines of the 2023 North American International Auto Show (NAIAS), inquiring as to the average age of a new Cadillac CT5 buyer.

According to Roth, the mean age for CT5 buyers is 62. That’s quite a bit older than the average age of a Cadillac vehicle in general, which measures in at 54 years old, a figure that’s been trending downward over the past decade. For instance, the average age of a Cadillac buyer was 59.9 nine years ago.

It’s worth noting that unlike the “regular” CT5 models (in Luxury, Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels), the ultra-high-performance Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing is attracting a younger clientele. The average purchase age of a CT5-V Blackwing buyer is 56, six years younger than that of the “regular” CT5, and eight years younger than that of the typical Caddy buyer.

Sales results from the third quarter of 2023 indicate an increased interest in CT5, as sales jumped 47 percent to 4,408 units. That landed the luxury sedan near the middle of the U.S. D-luxury car segment, earning a seven percent share – one percentage point higher than during Q3 2022.
