Some 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Units Need Body Wiring Harness Contact Fix

Cadillac has released a service update for certain units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq to address an issue with the electric luxury crossover’s main body wiring harness.

Affected vehicles may present with a condition in which the main body wiring harness (MBWH) could be abraded by a mounting stud, which has the potential to wear through the MBWH and cause electrical issues down the line. Thankfully, the fix for this issue involves a dealership technician installing a clip to secure the MBWH to prevent damage from the mounting stud.

The luxury marque indicated that 192 units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq have been affected with this issue, and vehicle owners will be contacted with instructions to create an appointment with their dealer to have the service performed. The procedure that will address the issue will be performed at no cost to vehicle owners. Additionally, it’s important to note that this is a service update, not a recall, and as such, it will expire at the end of the new vehicle limited warranty period. This service update is tagged with reference number N222385700.

The Lyriq is underpinned by the BEV3 platform and is assembled at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee for all markets except for China. It is currently offered with two powertrain options. The base single-motor setup features one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for an estimated 312 miles of driving range. The second is an AWD setup that adds a motor to the front axle, resulting in 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque. The forthcoming Lyriq-V will coax a few more horses from this same setup.
