2024 Cadillac XT4 To Benefit From Global B Electrical Architecture

The refreshed 2023 Cadillac XT4 brings a slew of updates to the luxury crossover, including a redesigned exterior, overhauled interior, and quite a few new tech features. Now, Cadillac Society has learned that the 2024 XT4 will benefit from the luxury marque’s advanced Global B electrical architecture.

As a reminder, the Global B electrical architecture system enables over-the-air (OTA) updates to be delivered to equipped vehicles, allowing onboard software systems to receive updates remotely via an internet connection for various vehicle components like software upgrades and software-related recalls. Also known as the Vehicle Intelligence Platform (VIP), Global B allows vehicles to harbor a more powerful processing system than those without.

Perhaps the largest benefit that the 2024 Cadillac XT4 will gain from the Global B platform is the ability to gain Super Cruise, the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous highway driver assist feature. While this technology won’t be offered right away on the luxury crossover, the Global B architecture will open the possibility for the feature to be added later.

The 2024 Cadillac XT4 retains the current model’s powerplant: the turbocharged 2.0L I4 gasoline engine (production code LSY). The boosted gasoline four-cylinder is rated at 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque, and is mated to the nine-speed automatic transmission. Front-wheel-drive is standard while all-wheel-drive is optional.
