2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition Orders To Be Fulfilled By Q1 2023

As the name implies, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition represents not only the introductory Lyriq trim level available at launch, but also the only trim level available at launch. Pre-orders for this model were snapped up in just under 10 minutes after they opened on September 18th, 2021. While a relatively limited number of Lyriq units were produced throughout the 2022 calendar year, Cadillac Society has learned that orders for the Debut Edition models will soon be fulfilled.

In a recent media briefing attended by Cadillac Society, Vice President of Cadillac, Rory Harvey, revealed that 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition orders will be fulfilled by the end of the first quarter of 2023. Production of these models at the Spring Hill plant in Tennessee kicked off in March 2022, meaning that the Debut Edition orders will be filled almost exactly one year after assembly began. The luxury marque did not specify how many units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition will be built, although as Cadillac Society recently reported, a total of 8,195 units of the Lyriq were built last year.

It’s worth noting that throughout 2022, only 122 units of the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq were actually delivered. This is because the luxury marque imposed a quality hold on the luxury electric crossover, which prevented some units from shipping to dealers, while units that did reach dealers were not deliverable to customers. However, this quality hold has since been lifted as issues related to the hold have been resolved, meaning that deliveries of the 2023 Lyriq should soon ramp up. It’s also important to note that some orders for the 2023 Lyriq are currently being rolled over to the 2024 model year.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Lyriq Debut Edition is underpinned by the BEV3 platform, and its single-motor setup features one Ultium motor mounted on the rear axle, lending 340 horsepower and 325 pound-feet of torque for an estimated 312 miles of driving range from a full charge. The Lyriq is also offered with a dual-motor, all-wheel-drive setup that produces 500 horsepower and 450 pound-feet of torque
