Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has issued a recall for certain units of the 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT5 luxury crossover over an issue related to the rearview camera.
The problem: affected units of the Cadillac XT5 may have a rearview camera coaxial cable whose connectors were not properly crimped, causing the rearview camera to fail or function intermittently.
The hazards: if the rearview camera is not functioning properly, the risk of experiencing a rear collision is increased.
The fix: a dealership technician will replace the rearview camera coaxial cables. This service will be performed at no charge to the vehicle owner.
Affected vehicles:
- 2020 Cadillac XT5
- 2021 Cadillac XT5
Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac has not indicated exactly how many units of the 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT5 may be affected by this condition. It’s important to note that this issue may also affect certain units of the 2020 and 2021 Cadillac XT6.
