Super Cruise Currently Unavailable For 2023 Cadillac Escalade

An increasing amount of features are being constrained from the 2023 Cadillac Escalade, and Super Cruise is the latest technology to be excluded from the full-size luxury SUV, Cadillac Society has learned.

According to sources familiar with the matter, Super Cruise (production code UKL) has been absent from new units of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade since it entered production on July 18th. It is expected to return to the full-size luxury SUV as of October 3rd production. At this time, it’s not clear if units that were assembled without the technology will be able to have it retrofitted in the future.

As a reminder, Super Cruise is the luxury marque’s semi-autonomous driver assist system that allows for hands-free travel on certain stretches of North American highways. When it’s available, Super Cruise adds $2,500 to the cost of the Escalade, and is offered on Premium Luxury, Sport, Premium Luxury Platinum and Sport Platinum trim levels, along with the Escalade-V. It is not offered at all on the base Luxury trim.

In addition to Super Cruise, the Heavy Duty Trailering Package is currently unavailable on new units of the 2023 Cadillac Escalade, along with four-way power lumbar seats adjustments. As if that wasn’t enough, Adaptive Beam Headlamps are also currently constrained after briefly being introduced to the Escalade for the 2023 model year. It’s also worth noting that Super Cruise is also currently constrained from the 2023 Cadillac XT6.

As a reminder, the 2023 Cadillac Escalade continues to ride on the same body-on-frame T1 vehicle platform as the 2021 and 2022 models and is offered with a choice of two engines for the “regular” model. The first is the naturally aspirated 6.2L V8 gasoline engine (production code L87), capable of 420 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque. This engine is standard on the Escalade, and models with this motor wear the 600 badge on the liftgate. Meanwhile, the turbodiesel 3.0L I6 engine (production code LM2) is optional. It’s rated at 277 horsepower and 460 pound-feet of torque; models with this engine used the 600D badge out back. Both engines mate to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission.

Joining the Escalade lineup for the 2023 model year is the all-new high-performance Cadillac Escalade-V, which features the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4) tuned to deliver a whopping 682 horsepower and 653 pound-feet of torque, making it the most power Cadillac ever made.
