To commemorate Cadillac’s 120th anniversary, the luxury marque will release a special edition of the Cadillac CT6 in China.
On Monday, June 27th, the luxury marque will pull the veil off the Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition. The unveiling will occur at a special event in Shanghai ahead of the luxury marque’s official anniversary celebration, which will take place in August.
There aren’t any details about what content the upcoming special edition CT6 will feature, but judging by promotional photos, it will be based on the 2022 CT6 Sport, albeit with some minor additions and changes. Although the special edition model likely features several bits of unique content, the only change that we can observe on the Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition is a unique set of multi-spoke wheels.
Just 300 units of the Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition will be produced, as it will be the last variant of the first-generation model before the upcoming second-generation takes over. Cadillac Society spied the next-gen CT6 undergoing testing a few months ago, showing major changes coming to the luxury sedan.
The Cadillac CT6 120th Anniversary Edition will continue to be powered by the turbocharged 2.0L I4 engine (production code LSY), good for 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The four-cylinder mates to Cadillac’s 10-speed automatic transmission.
The Cadillac CT6 was discontinued for the North American market two years ago, with the last unit rolling off the assembly line in February 2020. The large luxury sedan continued to be produced for the Chinese market, where assembly takes place at the Cadillac Jinqiao plant, which currently builds all Cadillac models for the Asian country. At this time, there are no plans to reintroduce the CT6 to North America, including special edition models.
