2022 Cadillac XT6 Recalled For Missing Brake Fluid Reservoir Cap Label

Cadillac has issued a product safety recall for certain units of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 over a possible missing brake fluid reservoir cap warning label.

The problem: affected units of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 may not have had a warning label affixed to the brake fluid reservoir cap at the factory.

The hazards: units of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 that are missing this warning label are not in compliance with Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards (FMVSS) in regard to light-duty passenger vehicle braking systems. Additionally, there is a risk of the brake fluid reservoir becoming contaminated with debris due to the missing label, which could negatively impact the performance of the braking system and increase the risk of a crash.

The fix: a dealership technician will be instructed to inspect the brake fluid reservoir cap and replace it if the proper labelling is not affixed to it. This repair will be performed at no cost to the vehicle owner.

Affected vehicles: 2022 Cadillac XT6.

Number of affected vehicles: Cadillac has indicated that a total of 235 units of the 2022 Cadillac XT6 are affected by the brake fluid reservoir warning label recall.

Next steps: Cadillac will contact owners of affected vehicles by mail. Notification letters will begin to be sent out on July 18th, 2022.
