Rare 2019 Cadillac CT6 With Blackwing Engine And Super Cruise For Sale

A stunning white 2019 Cadillac CT6 Platinum featuring both the eight-cylinder Blackwing engine and Super Cruise recently popped up for sale at a dealership in Florida.

The inclusion of both features makes this CT6 Platinum very rare. Coated in Crystal White Tricoat paint paired with a light colored interior, the model appears to be in great shape with just 30,500 miles on the odometer.

As we mentioned, what sets this particular CT6 apart is the inclusion of Super Cruise, Cadillac’s semi-autonomous driver assist feature that enables hands-free highway driving on certain highways within the United States and Canada. The feature makes use of a broad range of onboard sensors and cameras, including visual cameras, LiDar mapping, GPS information and radar to control braking and acceleration on compatible roads.

Under the hood of this particular Cadillac CT6 resides the twin-turbocharged 4.2L V8 Blackwing engine (production code LTA). It was only offered for the 2019 and 2020 model years for the CT6 Platinum, where it made 500 horsepower and 574 pound-feet of torque, as well as the CT6-V, where it produced 550 horsepower and 640 pound-feet of torque.

A handful of Blackwing engines are still available through the luxury marque’s parts catalog, but it’s offered as a “service replacement part” to replace a failed engine rather than as a crate motor. The twin-turbocharged powerhouse under the hood of this CT6 Platinum bolts to the luxury marque’s 10-speed automatic transmission. Power is sent to the ground via an all-wheel-drive system.

Stumbling across a Cadillac CT6 featuring both the Blackwing engine and Super Cruise is uncommon, as not many were produced, though the exact quantity is unknown. The asking price is approximately $71,750 according to the vehicle’s online listing, which seems fair for a rare vehicle like this one, especially considering the Cadillac CT6 for the North American market was discontinued back in February of 2020.

    • Dan – as Lon said, this is a CT6 Platinum. The 4.2L Blackwing engine was offered in the CT6-V and in the CT6 Platinum. The former focused on performance while the latter focused on luxury.

  2. This is a Platinum edition. It is built for a bit more luxury and comfort. The “V” edition is built for a bit more competitive performance.

  3. I’ve had the Crystal White V model now for 2 years, fantastic automobile. GM engineering did a great job, gobs of performance, 4-wheel steering, 4-wheel drive, very good fuel economy. Walk around video, describing my V on YouTube. https://youtu.be/iKEHNbjRrU4
