The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition was introduced today in celebration of the luxury marque’s milestone anniversary. Just 120 units of the special edition ultra-high-performance sedan will be produced.
The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Edition vehicles include exclusive features to set them apart, starting with a VIN serialized with a year of Cadillac’s history, beginning with 1902, which represents the year that Cadillac was founded by Henry Leland. There’s also a sill plate emblazoned with the Cadillac crest from the commemorative year, a special shifter medallion, a certificate of authenticity, and a course at the Spring Hill V-Performance Academy.
The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing seen in the photos here recently fetched $250,000 at the Barrett-Jackson Palm Beach auction, and the proceeds from this sale were donated to the SAE Foundation, which aims to increase access to STEM programs to students worldwide.
“Everyone at Cadillac is thrilled with the auction result,” said Rory Harvey, Cadillac Global Vice President. “We proudly support the SAE Foundation and are grateful to Barrett-Jackson for providing this opportunity.”
“The second edition of the Collector’s Series celebrates storytelling and craftsmanship for the discerning individual,” said Brandon Vivian, Cadillac executive chief engineer. “The 120th Anniversary of Cadillac is represented by unique content celebrating each individual year in the 120 years of Cadillac innovation.”
The 2023 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing 120th Anniversary Edition features the same supercharged V8 engine (production code LT4) as the regular CT5-V Blackwing, which is capable of 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque, making it the most powerful Cadillac ever built. All those horses meet the pavement exclusively through the rear wheels, with power transferred via either a standard six-speed manual transmission or optional 10-speed automatic. Pricing for the special edition CT5-V Blackwing has yet to be revealed.
