So far, Cadillac has kept details about the upcoming Cadillac Escalade-V close to the vest. That may not be the case for much longer, however, as the luxury marque dropped a teaser video today with the promise that “something exciting” is on the horizon and will be revealed tomorrow on January 21st, 2022.
The short 12-second video features minimalist imagery, displaying a dark background pierced by five sets of vehicle headlights. The center of the frame is occupied by a set of familiar vertical lighting signatures that clearly belong to a fifth-generation Escalade. On the right, the headlights from a CT4-V and CT4-V Blackwing are seen, and on the left, a CT5-V and CT5-V Blackwing glare into the darkness.
This imagery is accompanied by the sound of an engine aggressively revving up. It sounds strikingly similar to what we’ve already heard from the exhaust of the Cadillac V-Series Blackwing super sedans – and also from a prototype Escalade-V under wide open throttle.
The symbolism of the full-size luxury SUV surrounded by other V-Series cars, along with the sound of an obviously aggressive exhaust note, is a clear indication that the luxury marque intends to unveil the Cadillac Escalade-V tomorrow. Cadillac has hinted at the high-performance SUV’s existence for a while now, and development is obviously well underway, considering that we managed to catch a few prototypes undergoing testing on public roads last year.
As Cadillac Society has previously reported, the Escalade-V will be powered by the supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4). This is the the same powerhouse found under the hood of the CT5-V Blackwing, where it’s rated at 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque. Output under the hood of the Escalade-V will likely be different, but sources have told Cadillac Society to expect at least 640 horsepower.
Stay tuned as we await Cadillac’s exciting announcement tomorrow. In the meantime, subscribe to Cadillac Society for the latest Cadillac Escalade news and around-the-clock Cadillac news coverage. We also invite you to join the latest discussions in our Cadillac forums.
