2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing In Dark Emerald Frost: Live Photos

The 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing represents the most powerful machine to have ever been built by the luxury marque. The super sedan is offered in ten exterior colors:

  • Satin Steel Metallic (ray)
  • Summit White (white)
  • Black Raven (black)
  • Blaze Orange Metallic (orange)
  • Shadow Metallic (dark gray)
  • Wave Metallic (blue)
  • Electric Blue (bright blue)
  • Rift Metallic (white/gray)
  • Infrared Tintcoat (red)
  • Dark Emerald Frost (green)

The last of these, Dark Emerald Matte, is quite an elusive color. For starters, it’s available exclusively for the Blackwing sedans. Second, the color wasn’t available at the time production of the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing initially began. And then, the color got a name change from Dark Emerald Matte before production began. And though we’ve had computer-generated photos of the ultra-high-performance super sedan in the Dark Emerald Frost hue, nothing beats real-world photos – which is exactly what we have for you here today.

The Dark Emerald Frost hue has a matte finish, so it looks a little more sporty than its glossy counterparts, perfectly complementing this CT5-V Blackwing’s aggressive appearance and stance. The subtle cool green goes nicely with the blacked-out exterior elements, including the grille and window surrounds. It also pairs tastefully with the 19-inch alloys wearing a Polished finish with Dark Android accents.

Dark Emerald Frost is one of three matte colors to have been offered by Cadillac in the last decade, following Crystal White Frost made available on certain units of the ATS-V and third-generation CTS-V. In addition, Silver Frost Matte was offered on just 100 units of the CTS-V Coupe in 2013.

Alas, Dark Emerald Frost color has been built out for the 2022 model year, meaning that it’s no longer in production. But when it was available, it was the most expensive exterior hue available for the Cadillac Blackwing super sedans, priced at an additional $3,925. It’s currently not clear if the hue will ever return for a future Cadillac model.

Under the hood, the 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing boasts the massive supercharged 6.2L V8 engine (production code LT4), making 668 horsepower and 659 pound-feet of torque to the asphalt via the rear two wheels. This particular CT5-V Blackwing pictured here, previously on sale at Truck City Inc, features the standard six-speed manual transmission, but a 10-speed automatic transmission is available on other models for a premium.

Pricing for a brand-new 2022 Cadillac CT5-V Blackwing starts at $84,990 when equipped with the standard six-speed manual, and $88,165 with the optional 10-speed automatic.
