Foot Massager Patent Revealed, Would Be Perfect For The Cadillac Celestiq

The upcoming Cadillac Celestiq flagship sedan will offer ground-breaking technology and sumptuous luxury wrapped in a head-turning piece of design. Now, it looks like passengers lucky enough to ride in this opulent all-electric four-door will be able to indulge in a foot massage, as indicated by a recent patent filing.

As first revealed by our sister publication, GM Authority, Cadillac’s parent company, General Motors, has filed to patent a device titled “vehicle foot massage system in a vehicle floor.” The patent includes pneumatic elements in the vehicle floor, an air pump, and connecting lines.

The patent seems to suggest that pneumatic elements would be located along the vehicle floor in the foot wells, inflating pockets under the passenger’s feet and providing a massage. Such a system would be a perfect addition to the upcoming Cadillac Celestiq sedan, which, according to our sources, is exactly the vehicle this patent was filed for.

As a reminder, the Cadillac Celestiq is set to go on sale either late in 2023 or early in 2024 for the 2024 model year. Standout features will include a handsome, full-size exterior that takes cues from the Cadillac Escala concept that debuted in 2016, as well as a 2+2 seating arrangement in a cabin space festooned with high-end materials and technology. Under the skin, the Celestiq will run an AWD drivetrain with four-wheel steering and an Ultium lithium-ion power system, plus Ultium Drive electric motors.

Beyond the platform, battery, and drivetrain, the Cadillac Celestiq will offer a hand-built quality, with a price tag expected to hit at around $200,000. No word on if that will include pricing for this new foot massager.
