2020 Cadillac XT5, XT6 Recalled Over Fuel Supply Issue

The 2020 Cadillac XT5 and XT6 are being recalled over an issue with the vehicles’ fuel delivery system.

The problem: the fuel pump jet nozzle in affected vehicles “may have a plastic burr remaining from the manufacturing process,” at the tip, which can clog the nozzle and interrupt fuel flow to the engine.

The hazards: the issue can lead to a sudden engine stall without warning, which can increase the risk of a crash. It’s not clear if any accidents or injuries can be traced back to this problem.

The fix: Cadillac dealers will replace the entire fuel pump module in affected vehicles. These repairs will be done at no cost to the owner of the vehicle.

Affected components: fuel pump nozzle, fuel pump module.

Affected vehicles:

• 2020 Cadillac XT5
• 2020 Cadillac XT6

Owners should: Cadillac will notify owners of affected vehicles and instruct them to make an appointment with their dealer. The recall is expected to begin on November 30^th, 2020.
