When it goes on sale this fall, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 Sport will offer no less than three individual color options for its brake calipers – including the standard black as well as optional blue and red, with the two latter options featuring the V-Series logo. The individualized caliper colors are applied to both the front and rear brake components, creating a one-two punch front-to-back in terms of brake appearance and personalization.
The all-new 2020 Cadillac CT5 is offered in three trim levels, starting with the base-level Luxury trim. Above the Luxury are the Premium Luxury and Sport trim levels, which make up disparate branches of Cadillac’s latest Y-trim level strategy.
From a braking standpoint, the CT5 Sport stands out for its unique Brembo brakes, which replace the standard brakes found on the Premium and Premium Luxury trims.
For those buyers looking for an extra dose of performance and racy styling, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 Sport is the obvious choice in the all-new CT5 family, as it offers a unique set of aesthetic upgrades. Up front is a black mesh grille, as opposed to the bright grilles seen in the the Luxury and Premium Luxury, while the window molding trim is also finished in black. The door handles are body-colored and don’t get the bright accents of the Premium Luxury model. Neutral-density (clear) and gray-tinted outer lenses are added to the tail lamps, a spoiler lip is found on the trunk lid, while the lower valance gets a unique treatment.
However, the most important updates, at least as they relate to the customized brake calipers, are the body-color rocker moldings with black extensions, plus the standard 19-inch wheels. For reference, those rollers are finished in Pearl Nickel.
While black brake calipers look good, they do feel a bit too standard for our taste. Depending on the paint choice, we think blue could be a really nice complement to all those black trim bits. Alternatively, for those that want maximum visual attack, red is definitely the way to go.

For reference, the 2020 Cadillac CT5 Sport is powered by the standard turbocharged 2.0L four-cylinder engine (production code LSY) producing 237 horsepower and 258 pound-feet of torque. The twin-turbo 3.0L V6 (production code LGY) is optional, throwing down 335 horsepower and 400 pound-feet of torque. The CT5-V will slot above it, while the CT5-V Blackwing is expected to slot one level higher yet.
