According to the XT6 book I should be able to plug my mp3 into the USB port in the console and listen to it. The mp3 worked great on the Denali that I traded in. I have taken it to two dealerships and talked to a corporate tech. They have told me that I might have the wrong kind of mp3,but can’t tell me the right kind, then suggested downloading mp3 to a flash drive that didnt work either. They then suggested other methods of downloading mp3 to other equipment none of which worked. Any ideas? It’s really irritating to not be able to use the mp3 especially when it works on a kia.

I’ve been trying to get my Ipod to work without taking up the only phone slot. I looked at the users manual and in one place it states the usb ports are for charging and no data port is in the XT6. In another place in the manual it states there are data ports. Right now I have the Ipod paired using bluetooth and can listen to music. However, I can’t have my phone on at the same time. I just got an adapter for regular usb to type c. Maybe the type c port is a data port. I’ll let you know if it works. If you don’t know the difference between the two types of ports a nondata port only charges a device, a data port charges and reads the device to be played through the cars system. If I moved my music to my phone that might also work.
