Just spoke with my dealer and my Lyriq was built the end of October and is sitting in a lot near spring hill “On Hold” (approx 10 weeks ago) and per the salesman, Lyriq’s built after mine were shipped to the dealership.
Is there any way of finding out why the hold was placed on my vehicle and should I be concerned that the reason is that the vehicle came off the assembly line FUBAR?
February 21, 2024 at 9:23 pm #102307RjbieberParticipantI received the following update from my saleman today, Feb 21. “I was updated by my District Representative on Feb __th. Your Lyriq underwent another Engineering Hold on Feb 2 followed by a Quality Audit that day before getting released back to the plant. There is a myriad of updates the vehicle is undergoing to ensure quality before release to the Distribution Center for delivery to us.”
The delivery date is now estimated to be February to April
Anyone have thoughts about what this means?

It’s totally understandable to feel a bit anxious about your Lyriq being on hold, especially if it’s been sitting there for a while. But don’t fret just yet!
First off, it’s worth reaching out to your dealer to see if they can shed some light on why your vehicle is on hold. There could be various reasons for it, ranging from production delays to logistical issues. It doesn’t necessarily mean your car came off the line in bad shape (FUBAR), so try not to jump to conclusions.
Your dealer should be able to provide more info and hopefully reassure you about the status of your Lyriq. Hang tight, and hopefully, you’ll get some clarity soon.

It is shameful the way Cadillac and GM treat both customers and dealers by not providing information.
After pre-ordering the car in June 22 and having the vehicle built in October 2023, it has been sitting in a parking lot with no explanation since then. Given the uncertainty with this particular Lyriq, I decided to look around. I configured another Lyriq on the caddy site (same spec) and was contacted by another dealer.
I originally ordered an Opulent Lux 3 but ended up purchasing a Sport 3 with EVERYTHING I wanted in it, plus more. From start to finish it was 21.5 months from pre-order to drive off the lot, HOW CRAZY IS THAT?!?!?!
The utter contempt on the part of GM and Cadillac for both its customers and dealers is mindboggling. Here’s hoping KARMA bites GM, Cadillac and Mary B in the A$% in a BIG WAY.
